A Fund Raising Parable

The chicken and the pig were debating what to do to thank the farmer for looking after
them so well.
"I know," says the chicken. "Let's give him breakfast in bed."
"What did you have in mind," asks the pig.
"How about ham and eggs," suggests the chicken.
"Well, for you that represents a contribution, but for me,  it's a real commitment," replies the pig."

As you will see from the following budget information, it will not be easy for us to fulfill our dreams and keep William Meredith's remarkable legacy alive in programs at the center, especially in these difficult economic times. The need is great and this summer we plan to explore grant opportunities through government agencies and private foundations. We have come this far in our efforts largely through the moral and financial support of friends who share our vision and value the model William's life and work have given us. Several benefactors have demonstrated epic generosity with gifts of $10,000. Many others have contributed to the Foundation. All gifts large or small are greatly appreciated, give heart and help keep the flame of artistic camaraderie burning at the Meredith Center. After very careful scrutiny by the IRS, we have been accorded 501.c3 status as a tax-exempt, public charity so anything you may wish to contribute  is fully tax deductible. Please join the Friends of the Foundation listed below who have made a "real commitment" to our work. Thank you so much.
